One year older and wiser too

I just wanted to take a moment to share a birthday letter to my dearest daughter.


Dear Vivi,

I am so amazed at how much you have grown up suddenly. You walk with purpose each day and have such a bright and cheerful demeanor- with a splash of Tabasco sauce, of course. I love that feisty fighter energy you have when your brother snatches something out of your hands; never fails to surprise us all still. I love when you touch your forehead to ours because you think that's what a kiss can be too. I love those kisses. I love that you can be a savage beast in the morning and all you want is me milk. Just when we felt like we were figuring out this parenting thing, you came along and threw us for a loop. It's been fun. I'd do it all over again to relive this past year. Thanks for wanting to be held. I love holding you even though my weak arms disagree. That's why Dad has big muscles. I love how much you want to be like your brother. You guys are so fun to watch, especially when he climbs into your crib to keep you company. He loves you too. I can't wait to have more girl's nights and to braid your hair. I love you, Vivienne Chan!
